Dale Stephanos
Born and raised in a leafy suburb of Boston, Dale Stephanos first discovered he could make a living as an artist while in the 7th grade. After several years of drawing Kiss album covers in exchange for completed (and correct) homework assignments, he made the jump into legitimate business, producing editorial cartoons and spot illustrations for Boston area newspapers.

He was soon noticed by the Boston Herald, for which he worked regularly as an editorial cartoonist and illustrator for 14 years. While at the Herald, Dale's work was picked up by Newsweek, Time, The Economist, The New York Times, and dozens of other newspapers and magazines. If the process of producing an editorial cartoon was challenging and exciting, the end result was, for Dale often disappointing. "I wanted to make a more finished product. I loved being able to work on a piece for longer than 3 hours."

The transition to magazines and their week long deadlines seemed like a luxury to Dale, and he quickly became established as an illustrator who could come up with fun ideas while having very detailed work on a tight deadline. "For me, the idea phase is still the most entertaining part of the process. Well, that and the check cashing part. But that's just between us. No one's reading this, right?"

In the 23 years Dale has been an illustrator he's had the honor of being recognized by all the major illustration competitions, including the Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts, American Illustration, and more. His work has appeared in Rolling Stone, Time, Newsweek, Bicycling, Businessweek, Sports Illustrated, Entertainment Weekly, Mad, and many many more.
